Siemens Medical Systems has developed Krenikon, a new diagnostic instrument that measures weak magnetic fields, as a source of excitement for tracking bioelectrical activity in the body, especially the heart and brain. The general electrocardiogram and electroencephalography techniques can not measure the source of excitement for electrical activity; Krenikon, on the other hand, gives precise sources of excitement and conduction pathways and is a noninvasive measurement. Used with other diagnostic instruments such as magnetic resonance imaging devices, Krenikon offers a new diagnostic capability that enables one to study the brain’s epileptic activity as well as the electrical excitement of the heart during the cardiac cycle. Researchers can also detect neurological transmission in the brain when there is visual and auditory stimuli
