“周末歌星自娱晚会”活动始于1987年7月初,是南京团市委青年工作社会化尝试的一个部分。组织这一活动的目的在于,丰富青年业余文化生活,培养和发现青年文艺人才;增强团组织的吸引力,扩大团组织的社会影响,探索青年工作社会化的方法和途径。活动的基本形式是:团市委通过新闻媒介发布举办自娱晚会的消息,自愿登台演唱的青年向团市委报名并交纳演唱费,观众在团市委提前购买入场券,每周六晚上有15至20人登台,在自备磁带或自带乐器的伴奏下演唱,并由专家评分。活动开展以来,报名演唱者络绎不绝,青年观众 The Weekend Singer Singing Evening party started in early July 1987 and is part of the socialization attempt of the youth work of the Nanjing City Communist Party Committee.
