Objective: To investigate whether there is gender difference in the incidence and severity of tinnitus among medical staffs. Methods: The tinnitus questionnaire was designed with reference to the severity of tinnitus scoring proposed by Liu Peng et al. And distributed to medical staff in 8 different hospitals in Guangzhou. After the questionnaire was collected, the data were analyzed by SPSS17.0. Results: The overall incidence of tinnitus was 43.22%. There was a statistically significant difference in gender and job level (both P <0.05). The incidence of female was higher than that of male, and the incidence of nurses was greater than that of doctors and technicians. ② The incidence of persistent tinnitus was not statistically significant at the sex level, and there was significant difference at the post level (P <0.01). ③ severity of tinnitus score at the gender level and post-level differences were not statistically significant. (4) There was a significant statistical difference (P <0.01) between the sub-items in each score, the average score of “appearing environment” was higher than “the effect on sleep”, “the influence on life ”Effect on Emotion ". Conclusions: ①There are gender differences in the tinnitus incidence in medical staff. The imbalance of work-pay-feedback may be the key factor. ② improve the patient’s tinnitus cognitive level and mental toughness can help alleviate the psychological damage caused by tinnitus.
