唐代僧尼的葬制,应当是唐墓葬制度的一部分,但由于其宗教性质所决定,又与一般意义上的葬制有一定区别。僧尼的葬制不仅在文献中多有记载,近年来,随着与僧尼葬制相关的塔基地宫、瘗窟、瘗穴及志铭不断发现,为深入研究此类问题提供了可能性。据《法苑珠林》卷九七载:僧尼的葬制有“水漂”、“火葬”、“土埋”、“施林”~([1])。《四分律删繁补缺行事钞》卷二十六记载:僧尼的葬制分为“火葬”、“劳林葬”和“土葬”等,并对其进行了具体的解释,“火葬焚之以火,土葬埋之岸,劳林葬
