地质测年是地学领域必不可少的重要研究环节之一。随着近代科学的发展以及高精度分析技术在地学领域中的广泛应用,地学工作者已经在传统的地层古生物测年方法之外,发展了许多种新的测龄方法,如放射性同位素方法,裂变径迹法,热释光法和古地磁法等等。近十多年来,国际上出现了一门建立在有机生物地球化学及地质学基础上的崭新边缘学科——氨基酸地质年代学。
