James’s innovations in fiction skills are mainly reflected in his later three works “Pigeon Wing”, “Golden Bowl” and “Feng Shi Ji”. In his later novels, James paid more attention to the form and narrative angle of the novel. And in order to properly reflect the thoughts and feelings of the characters, James created a “post-James style” with implicit language and rhythm. Based on the specific works of James later period, this article analyzes his unique style of novel creation, and then repositions James, pointing out that he is a modernist writer.
