历史的瞬间变成了永恒的欢乐。当北京申奥成功的消息传来,聚集在中华世纪坛的各界群众爆发出排山倒海的欢呼。40万北京群众自发来到天安门广场,欢庆申奥成功。党和国家领导人江泽民、李鹏、朱镕基、李瑞环、胡锦涛、尉健行今晚在世纪坛和天安门广场,与各界群众共庆这一喜悦的时刻。江泽民同志在现场给远在莫斯科的李岚清打电话,热烈祝贺申奥成功。
The moment of history has become eternal joy. When Beijing’s successful bid to host the Olympics came, all the people gathered in the China Millennium Monument burst into cheers. 400,000 Beijing people spontaneously came to Tiananmen Square to celebrate the success of the Olympic bid. Party and state leaders Jiang Zemin, Li Peng, Zhu Rongji, Li Ruihuan, Hu Jintao and Wei Jianhang celebrated this moment of joy at the Millennium Monument and the Tiananmen Square tonight with the masses from all walks of life. Comrade Jiang Zemin called Li Lanqing far away in Moscow on the scene and warmly congratulated the successful bid for the Olympic bid.
