Spinel CuCo2O4 was studied as a new kind of cathode for intermediate temperatures solid oxide fuel cell.Herein,CuCo2O4 nanorod composite was prepared by hydrothermal synthesis of CuCo2O4 nanorod at a porous YSZ/dense YSZ electrolyte matrix.The microstructure of the composite cathodes were characterized by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy.The relationship between the morphology and the hydrothermal condition was discussed.Impedance spectroscopy and overpotential measurements revealed that the composite cathode show good electrochemical properties.The results showed that CuCo2O4 nanorod composite cathode is promising for the candidate for IT SOFC.
