The indoor air quality (IAQ) has a major influence on human health, because 90% of our life is spent in indoor environment.Many toxic or allergenic organic substances emitted by furnitures, carpets, wallpapers, etc.can cause several illnesses, so the measurement of these substances is the key role in the evaluation of IAQ.Thermal desorption is a sensitive, cost effective method for the determination of organic pollutants.The aim of this study was to implement the international standard ISO 16000-6 to the determination of 150 selected indoor air pollutant.The conditions of thermal desorption were optimized for 13 representative compounds.The optimized parameters were used for the calibration for air pollutants.The repeatibility and the quantitation limit were investigated according to the procedure of German Federal Ministry of Health.The 48 days of shelf life of sampled Tenax tubes was validated.
