AIM:To study the effects of light intensity on the compressive strength and tensile strength of light-curing composite resin.METHODS:Compressive strength and microtensile strength of light-curing composite resin with different curing light intensity[group 1:300mW/cm2×40s;group 2:500mW/cm2×40s;group 3:800mW/cm2×40s;group 4:(300mW/cm2×10s)+(500mW/cm2×30s);group5:(300mW/cm2×10s)+(800mW/ cm2×30s)],were evaluated by computer-controlled electronic testing machine (type WDW-100).RESULTS:The "soft-start polymerization" showed significantly higher compressive strength and microtensile strength than the "continuous intensity polymerization".
