The ammonium bicarbonate (ABC) liposomes have shown to release doxorubicin (DOX) rapidly at elevated temperatures (40-42 ℃) and improve the intravenous stability at physiological temperature (37 ℃)[1].However,the ABC liposomes are unable to enter the tumor cells because of containing PEG-lipids (DSPE-PEG2000).Therefore,drug release from ABC liposomes can be triggered only extracellularly. As is well-known,intracellular drug release is more promising than extracellular release in chemotherapy[2].
