水稻株高是决定产量的重要因素,上世纪50-60年代,半矮秆品种的培育为世界粮食生产带来了第一次绿色革命,株高降低虽然降低了总生物量,但提高了植株耐肥和抗倒伏能力,并最终增产,因此株高在此后育种过程中成为一个重要选择指标。我们在籼粳杂交育种过程组配了Z J22和9311的群体,2个亲本株高表现都为中矮类型,其中ZJ22株高约为65 cm,而9311株高约为79 cm(2009海南数据)。
