During 1990s and 2000s, it was established that sialendoscopy is a reliable and safe technique for the diagnosis and treatment of salivary gland disorders in adults as well as in children. It appeared to be an effective treatment of sialolithiasis, strictures, chronic recurrent parotitis, juvenile recurrent parotitis ,traumatic injuries to the parotid duct, and other inflammatory disorders of salivary glands. It was postulated that sialendoscopic minimally invasive technique might be a welcome innovation helping to avoid radical surgical treatment of salivary gland diseases both in parotid and in submandibular glands. In the lecture we will review the latest developments in the field of salivary gland endoscopy using microendoscopic equipment and techniques, combined endoscopic and endoscopic assistant techniques and external lithotripsy. Our experience using these techniques on 3062 patients during 2 decades will be discussed. We will present our method of treatment of strictures and other inflammatory conditions of the major salivary glands. We will present our imaging methods before the endoscopic intervention our results with the various techniques and complications encountered during our procedures.
