万隆昌地区位于华北地台北缘,大地构造属内蒙台隆阴山断隆成矿带东部,从太古界乌拉山群到三叠纪花岗岩,形成多新太古界乌拉山群、震旦系什那干群、上石炭统栓马桩组、中侏罗统大青山组。地层内铀含量总体呈现逐渐增高的趋势。以陆源沉积为主体的乌拉山群上部铀含量较高,是区内主要的铀源层。侵入岩主要为三叠纪大东山 The Wanlongchang area is located on the northern margin of the North China Platform.
