In the Journal of Applied Linguistics, the proportion of language educational essays is roughly equivalent and the content is basically the same. The British Journal is highly concentrated in teaching, while the medium journal focuses more on textbook research. The syllabus is weak and needs to be strengthened. From a historical point of view, the trend of the proportion of teaching and learning in our country’s language (mother tongue) has obviously declined, and research should be strengthened. Both China and Britain take individual studies as the main mode, and the degree of collective research in China is less than that of other countries, but the momentum of cooperation and research has developed rapidly. There is a big gap between the empirical methods of material research, quantitative research and experiments in China and abroad. This is related to the Sino-British academic tradition and also directly related to the differences in the topics that Chinese and English researchers are concerned about. The quantitative research methods in our country are developing rapidly, but the proportion of corpus use in language education research is always low, which is related to the fact that there are not many language education corpora and many researchers have not yet developed the habit of using corpora. Both the Chinese and British research teams are from many countries or regions and the geographical distribution is also very uneven. The author of our country, with Beijing as the center and a very low degree of internationalization, should pay attention to the development and cultivation of compatriots outside Beijing, Hong Kong, Maucao and foreign authors in the future.
