Various excellent properties of magnesium alloy make it valuable in a number of applications including automobile parts,aerospace components,computer parts and handheld tool.Unfortunately,magnesium alloys are susceptible to suffer galvanic corrosion,which limit its further application.To improve the corrosion resistance of AZ91D magnesium alloy,the zinc-aluminum spray coating as well as a post heat treatment were applied onto AZ91D magnesium alloy.The microstructure and composition,micro-hardness,thermal shock resistance and corrosion performance of zinc-aluminum coating were investigated in this paper.
