T-cadherin is a GPl-anchored member of cadherin superfamily.T-cadherin mediates guidance of migrating cells rather than cell-cell adhesion.Tumor growth and metastasis are dependent on cell movement and invasion, thus T-cadherin was suggested to be involved in cancer progression. In normal human skin T-cadherin was expressed in epidermis, blood vessels, and melanocytes but its expression was decreased during malignant transformation in primary melanomas and metastasis.
