Highly dispersed copper nanoparticles (NPs) are fabricated on the surface of reduced graphene oxide (RGO) via direct hydrazine hydrate reduction of Cu2+ in aqueous solution.Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) images show that copper NPs distribute on the surface of graphene nanosheets, the average particle size was about 40 nm.The copper NPs which are supported on graphene (Cu/Gra) have high selectivity and catalysis activity for the oxidation of toluene to corresponding benzaldehyde (BzH).It is found that the selectivity of BzH reached 66.5% and conversion of toluene reached 11.5%.
