It was indicated that during the last 30 years indoor radon concentration in China increased some 80% compared with the national wide survey results which was carried out in 1980s.The considerable reasons might be the generally enhance of airtight and the change of building materials,including both in its structure and in its ingredients as well.To saving resources,and at the same time,it is also an effective way of solution of industry wasters,under oriented policy of the government,more and more fly ash and slag were adopted and used in the production process of building materials in China.The government now is trying to reduce indoor radon exposure through controlling the radon exhalation rate of building materials.And on the other hand,the survey on radon concentration of foundation soil is required.However,for the measurement of both radon exhalation rate of building materials and soil radon concentration,a lot of basic studies are still necessary.
