Diabetes mellitus is a disorder of metabolism, which has been a serious threat to peoples health.In recent years, studies have shown that tea polysaccharides and tea polyphenols could effectively prevent and treat diabetes and its complications.However, reports at present have mainly concentrated in the tea polysaccharides and tea polyphenols alone in the treatment of diabetes and its complications, few have reported their synergistic treatment to diabetes and its complications.In this study, tea polysaccharides and tea polyphenols alone and their synergistic effect on the prevention of diabetes has been related.The study of synergistic-protective effect of green tea polysaccharides and tea polyphenols on Sprague Dawley diabetic rats proved the synergistic-preventive effect of tea polyphenols and tea polysaccharides.
