Microstatellites, also known as simple sequence repeats (SSRs) or short tandem repeats (STRs), are defined as being 1-6 base-pairs-nucleotide motifs, repeated in tandem at least five times.The thorough scanning of the location and distribution of micriosatellites in Volvariella volvacea genome would facilitate their continued use as a molecular marker and contribute to a general understanding of microsatellite evolution in genomes.Thus we identified SSRs in the genome of V volvacea and analyzed their frequency and distribution in different genomic regions
