Ellagic acid is currently considered for use as a cancer chemopreventive drug.It has also been reported that EA can inhibit the mutagenicity and carcinogenicity in a wide range of mutagents [1-3].EA has four rings representing the lipophillic domain and four phenolic representing the hydrophilic part [4].Because of the unique molecular structure of EA,it has low solubilities in water and other commonly used organic agents.Therefore,the separation and purification of EA is quite difficult.
