Background After ischemia/reperfusion(I/R) injury of brain, there will be a lot of complex changes of pathophysiology in ischemic core and penumbra, many neurons from ischemia become apoptotic even necrotic.It is known that Ischemic Postconditioning (IPost) plays a critical role in cerebroprotective of ischemia/reperfusion(I/R) injury, and miR-124 is the most abundant miRNA in the brain, it is widely expressed in virtually all postmitotic neurons in all CNS regions, it was differentially expressed in plasma and brain organization after ischemic stroke, and it mediate PI3K-Akt pathway to onset of action in other tissues or organs.However, miR-124 expression as well as its protective role following IPost has not been reported.The purpose of our study was to investigate whether.
