  A symplectic pseudospectral method for nonlinear optimal control problems with inequality constraints is proposed and is successfully applied to vehicle trajectory optimization problems.A nonlinear optimal control problem is first transformed into a series of linear-quadratic constrained problems with the help of quasilinearization techniques.
