Background This study was to investigate the value of B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) and Thyroid Hormone for Cardiac Function and prognosis in super-senior elder patients with congestive heart failure (CHF).Methods Forty-six super-senior elder patients were divided into 4 groups, grade Ⅰ grade Ⅱ,Ⅲand ⅣV groups according to the New York Heart Association (NYHA) cardiac functional standard. The serum levels of free triiodothyronine (FT3),free thyroxine (FT4),thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) and BNP were measured in patients. All patients were monitored for a year. The end-point was defined cardiac death.Evaluate the value of the serum levels of thyroid hormone,BNP in cardiac function and prognosis.
