Objective: To investigate whether or not EABR can be used to predict the speech perception outcome after cochlear implantation.Methodology: 40 prelingually deaf children with residual hearing, without internal auditory canal malformation and pathological changes in auditory nerve who received cochlear implants were measured by EABR and interviewed pre-/postoperatively using CAP and SIR Chinese version.The relationship between the scores of CAP/SIR Chinese version whose reliability had been testified before-hand and the EABR thresholds/latencies/input-output functions (I/O) was explored.
