Objective: To evaluate the effect of individualized music intervention on sleep quality and pain of patients in the ICU after thoracotomy.Methods: A total of 240 lung cancer patients were divided into two groups, namely, control group and music intervention group.The patients in the control group received routine postoperative care, whereas the patients in the music intervention group received increasing individualized music intervention based on routine postoperative care.Sleep quality of patients was assessed with Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) on the day of ICU discharge.The pain degrees of patients were assessed with brief pain inventory during postoperative 24, 48, 72, 96, 120, 144, and168 h.The effect of pain on quality of life was assessed before and after the intervention.
