The pyrolysis of JP-10 was studied in a single-pulse shock tube over the temperature range from 1150K to 1350K.The pyrolysis products were analyzed by gas chromatography. The main products contain ethylene,propylene,n-butene,butadiene,cyclopentadiene,cyclopentene,benzene,toluene,and a small amount of methane, ethane, xylene and 1-methylcyclopentene.Comparative rate measurements were used in this work to eliminate the effects of non-ideality and boundary layer behind shock waves. The pyrolysis of JP-10 was modeled using the San Diego mechanism. The kinetic modeling could reproduce almost the experimental results of yield variation with temperature of three main products, ethylene, acetylene and butadiene.
