Landslides sliding along the bedrock surface commonly occur in soil and rock mixture(SRM) slope because of the characteristic of SRM.We conducted a detailed study of instability of SRM slope coupled with digital terrain analysis of bedrock surface features at the hillslope scale and drained direct shear tests of SRM on the bedrock surface in Zhangmu, Tibet, suggesting that apart from thickness of accumulated deposits, bedrock surface topographic indices may become a limiting factor for stability of SRM slope.
