The increase of heavy rainfall events with global climate change highlights the importance of effective schemes to prevent or mitigate the loss of life and property due to inundation and landslides.
Evidence is mounting that the assumption of non-stationarity in modelling rainfall extremes is no longer valid but one has to account for climate change and climate variability.
In order to explore the relationship between peak discharge of earth dam and breaching process, a series of indoor flume experiments have been done on earth dam (1 meter height)constructed by wide gra
This study presents a study of simulation of the global land surface hydrological processes (including streamflow, soil moisture, and evapotranspiration) at a daily temporal step and at 1° latitude-lo

There are numerous small reservoirs in China, as a result of the limitation of construction conditions and the low level of mechanization, the engineering construction quality is difficult to be guara
Areal Reduction Factors (ARFs) are a common method of considering the heterogeneity of storm events over large watersheds. The ARFs assumes that the peak rainfall intensity will not occur uniformly due
Urban river basins are vulnerable to floods due to intense rainfall, and hence posing a danger to communities.Non-structural flood measures, including forecasting and warning are indispensable to comp
In the winter East Sea (ES), abnormal high waves due to the cold and dry East Asian winter monsoon and winter storms (extratropical cyclones) are often reported causing large coastal damages along the
The impervious surfaces in urban areas significantly increase surface runoff and river discharge leading to flooding issues.Green roof is one possible mechanism in adverting such problems.Up to date,
