Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae causes porcine enzootic pneumonia (PEP), a chronic respiratory disease characterized by high morbidity, retarded growth, loss of appetite and death, with disease often exacerbated by secondary infections with other bacterial or viral pathogens.A rapid, sensitive and reliable method is needed to detect serum antibodies against M.hyopneumoniae for infection diagnosis and efficacy evaluation of vaccination programme.
