Purpose: In order to improve the hydrophilicity and antibacterial properties of silicone elastomers materials,chitosan was selected to modify the surface of silicon rubber through layer by layer assembly method.Methods: The cleaned MDX-4-4210 silicone rubber specimen was alternately immersed in 5 wt%Nafion solution and chitosan acetic acid solutions at room temperature for 8min and 10min respectively.After each immersing step,the silicon sample was extensively rinsed with deionized water and dried with a stream of N2 gas.
