Triazoles are an important class of heterocycles due to their range of applications as synthetic intermediates and pharmaceuticals.Many triazoles are found to be potent antimicrobial,antiviraland anti-proliferative agents,and to act as potassium channel activators.Pharmaceutical importance of nucleoside analogues has prompted the design and synthesis of various triazolonucleosides.1 Ribavirin is a broad spectrum nucleoside analogue efficacious in the treatment of several viral infections,and commonly used in the treatment of respiratory syncytial virus(RSV)infection.However,its use has been significantly limited by its safety profile and side effects,which include hemolytic anemia.Reducing the toxicity has then been an objective,and a large number of analogues of ribavirin have been synthesized,such as carba-1,2,3-triazoles,21,2,4-triazole analogues3 and so on.
