Plastic pipe reinforced by cross helically wound steel wires(PSP)is a new plastic-matrix steel composite pipe developed in China recently.To understand the stress of PSP under internal pressure,a finite element model was proposed.The stresses and strains of inner and outer surfaces of PSP were obtained by FEM analysis.Good agreement between theoretical results and experimental data was observed,which shows that the presented model can be employed to predict stresses and strains of PSP.
