To fabricate fluorescent films with superior sensing performances,we have established a number of strategiesduring the last more than ten years.The strategies include mainly:1) chemical films fabricated via utilizationof a mono-layer chemistry strategy,where low-molecular mass fluorophores are adopted as sensing elements,2) chemical films fabricated via utilization of a mono-layer chemistry strategy,where conjugated polymers,in particular conjugated oligomers or linear conjugated molecules,are utilized as sensing elements,and 3)physical films,possessing hierarchical porous structures,fabricated by using fluorescence molecular gelsas coating materials.In the presentation,the strategies as established will be presented via case studies.Atthe same time,concepts such as two-dimensional solution model,spacer-layer screening effect,spacer-layerenrichment effect and side-chain effect will also presented.
