Background To evaluate the efficiency of thrombus aspiration during primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).Methods Databases including the Cochrane Library,PubMed,EMbase,CNKI,WanFang Data were searched from inception to June 2013 to identify the randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on thrombus aspiration during primary PCI for acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction. Two reviewers independently selected the literature according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, extracted data, and assessed methodological quality of the included studies. Then the meta-analysis was conducted using RevMan5.0 software.
