A novel monolith catalyst of plate-type alumina was prepared by anodization.The effects of hydration treatment on the anodic alumina reacting in the dimethyl ether (DME) hydrolysis were investigated.The reactivity of the plate-type anodic alumina in DME hydrolysis reaction was compared with that of the commercial Al2O3 and ZSM-5 catalysts.The results show that the 80℃ hydration-treated anodic Al2O3/Al monolith exhibited higher activity than the commercial Al2O3 in DME hydrolysis reaction system.Meanwhile, the anodic Al2O3/Al monolith showed better reaction performance in the hydrolysis of DME compared to ZSM-5 catalyst due to its less unfavorable side reactions.
