The importance of acoustic properties(i.e.,sound speed and attenuation)in marine sediment is well known in the field of geophysics and underwater acoustics.In-situ technique had been paid more attention for acquiring sediment acoustic properties since 1950s,and many new instruments was built recently. One of the latest version of such insitu instruments is HISAMS(Hydraulic-driven In-situ Sediment Acoustic Measurement System),which was developed by First Institute of Oceanography,State Oceanic Administration(FIO,SOA).
