Current modules and systems lose a significant part of their power when shade is present.A solution is presented by adapting the electrical lay-out of the module, without additional manufacturing costs.Such a module has several advantages: the annual yield is significantly higher when shade is present, no shade analysis needs to be carried out by the installer, the temperature rise resulting from diodes is strongly reduced as is the risk of damage due to hotspots, combined with a dedicated micro-inverter this leads to an easy to install plug-and-play system.It allows utilization of an entire roof area, and hence improves aesthetics and the market for PV.
