Medicinal chemistry of carbohydrates is a slowly-developing subdiscipline and calls for strong support from synthetic carbohydrate chemists.To undertake this task,we have devised new methods and structures in some unacknowledged,yet highly important fields in carbohydrate medicinal chemistry.
