High-molecular aliphatic alcohols can be successfully used in solvent extraction technologies due to the following features: low-solubility, a fairly high flash temperature, low density and viscosity, providing a high rate of phase separation, and relatively low toxicity.Besides, these alcohols can selectively extract a number of compounds from acidic media such as mineral acids (Kasikov et al., 2008) and some metals (Orlandini et al., 1965).
