Chinese white dolphin (CWD,Sousa chinensis) is the only First-grade state protected marine cetacean in China and distributes along southeast coastal waters.Fujian coastal waters is a main distribution area of CWD,while little is known about its distribution and population size in this area except well studies in Xiamen waters.In this study,we conducted fishermen interview along Fujian coast,based on inshore fishermens local ecological knowledge (LEK),to explore the historical and current distribution pattern of CWD along Fujian coastal waters.Totally,239 experienced inshore fishermen were interviewed at 23 fishing ports (or villages).
