Purpose To evaluate the effects of red Light-Emitting Diodes on elbow extensor and flexor strength and the recovery of exercise induced fatigue.Methods A randomized double-blind placebo-controlled crossover trial was performed with twenty male young tennis athletes.Active LEDT or an identical placebo LEDT was delivered under double-blinded conditions to the left elbow immediately before exercise.The isokinetic muscle strength was measured immediately after irradiation.The blood lactate levels and creatine kinase (CK) activity were sampled in pre-exercise and post-exercise.
