Research on layout of optical fiber applied to detecting the integrity of cast-in-situ piles

  Distributed optical fiber temperature sensing technology has the potential to be used to detect the cast-in-situ pile integrity.This study put forward fiber arrangement applied to detecting pile integrity in site and gave a calculation model about temperature distribution.A model pile was made with the dimensions of 1.5 meters long,width and height 0.5 meters respectively.Fibers were implanted paralleling to the center axis of the pile with the spacing 0.04 meters.By heating the fiber in the center of pile,heat conduction area caused by heating fiber was tested.The test results indicate that the heating conduction area is limited for certain heating power.Care for heating conduction area and heating power must be taken when arranging optical fiber in piles to detect the integrity.
