Nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)are the most important mineral nutrients for plants.Increasing evidence suggests N and P supply, either by elevating anthropogenic inputs or along natural gradient, can shape assemblage of plant species in terrestrial ecosystems. However,it remains unclear how N and P enrichment and their interaction affect species diversity in tropical forests, where N is abundance but P is relatively deficient.
