Improvement of coconut coir dust based soilless culture by incorporation of composts for the production of pepper (Capsicum annuum var Kulai) under protected cultivation was investigated. The plants were grown in five different growing medias consisted of mixture of coconut dust with empty fruit bunch compost (EFB),rice straw compost (RS) and peat moss (imported). These combination of subsrates were compared with plants grown in 100% coconut coir dust.Higher relative growth rate and net assimilation rate were observed on amended media compared to coconut coir dust.
