Biochar is produced from organic materials by the process of pyrolysis under continuous flow of nitrogen;therefore,it is distinguished from charcoal by its use as a soil amendment (Lehmann and Joseph,2009).Biochar has great agronomic inputs and improves soil fertility, ecosystem functions and sequestration of carbon (Sohi et al.,2010).The application of biochar brings changes in the soil properties including increase of pH,cation exchange capacity and bulkiness of soil;and also improved nutrient retention.
