We discuss work on existence and qualitative property of positive solutions for coupled nonlinear Schr(o)dinger equations.Depending upon the system being attractive or repulsive,solutions may tend to be component-wisely synchronized or segregated.We report recent work on the effect of mixed couplings for which coexistence of synchronization and segregation may occur,in particular,we examine the asymptotic behavior of least energy solutions for large mixed couplings of multi-scales.
