Austenitic stainless steels are expected to be used for high-pressure hydrogen storage in fuel cell vehicles, however, they are sensitive to hydrogen embrittlement (HE);thus the application of the materials in hydrogen service has been studied [1,2].The effects of hydrogen on plasticity and creep of austenitic stainless steels have been investigated using a combination of nanoindentation and atomic force microscopy (AFM).
