Lycopladine D was isolated from Lycopodium complanatum by Kobayashi in 2006.[1] The total synthesis was accomplished in 15 steps with 7.2% overall yield, which featured a stereoselective birch reduction, an intramolecular mitsunobu reaction, an allylic oxidation and a biomimetic N,O-ketal bridged lactone formation.
